Taipei, Sept. 12 (CNA) Taiwanese athletes bagged three gold medals on the last day of the World University Badminton Championship 2010 Sunday in Taipei.
Chen Hung-ling and Hsieh Pei-chen beat China's Huang Haitao and Cheng Su in straight sets 21-11, 21-9 to win the title in the mixed doubles.
Hsueh Hsuan-yi then came from behind to defeat Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia 18-21, 21-16, 21-14 to take gold in the men's singles.
Lee Sheng-mu and Fang Chieh-min rounded off the day by defeating the Thai duo of Bodin Isara and Maneepong Jongjit 21-16, 15-21, 21-15 to grab gold in the men's doubles.
The medal tally represented the country's best-ever performance at the tournament, having already won silver in the team event Sept. 9.
It was the first time Taipei had hosted the biennial tournament, which brought together 78 male and 6.
