England's badminton team came through unscathed in the mixed team event as they brushed aside both Uganda and earlier the Falkland Islands fairly easily.
In what Gabby White described as a 'routine victory', she and partner Jenny Wallwork produced an impressive display in the womens
doubles to beat Bridget Shamin Bangi and Margaret Nankabirwa from Uganda 21:2, 21:4 to round off a clean sweep of wins for the team today.
20-year-old White had already won in the morning session with Chris Adcock in the mixed doubles. They beat James Clark and Anna Luxton of the Falkland Islands very comfortably.
England flag barer from the opening ceremony, Nathan Robertson, also had a run out, where he and Wallwork were victorious in the mixed doubles and he joined Anthony Clark, who was making his 100th appearance for Team England to win 21:10, 21:8.
Amongst the other team members who won today were Rajiv Ouseph and Liz Cann. British number one, Ouseph took his singles match without really exerting much pressure, 21:10, 21:9. Cann, the oldest member of the England team, who represented Jersey in Melbourne in 2006 played twice. She came through two singles matches without any scares.
