HEAD Lausanne Youth International 2010

Lausanne10HDAfter the successful organized World Championships in France last August, the French Badminton Federation FFBA showed at Lausanne, that they have meanwhile very good junior players, who will be able to play an important role in future times. But it was England, which won 3:2 in the five finals at Lausanne in the Center de Badminton Malley.
Toby Penty and Sarah Milne gave an impressive performance

Sarah Milne could defend her title from last year. In the semi final she had beaten the Swiss girl Nicole Schaller, who could not take revanche for the defeat in last year`s final. In the boys category U19 it was Toby Penty (England), who showed an impressive performance. His opponent Lucas Claerbout (France) had no chance in the final and could not find to his game. But on the doubles side, the Frenchs win two titles. The mens doubles was a thrilling match because both pairs had the chance to make it – and the result of 22:20 and 27:25 showed how close it was. While Lucas Corvee and Joris Grosjean made it very stressful for their coach Vincent Laigle, the French girls did a good job. Audrey Fontaine/Léa Palermo beat Helena Lewczynska/Hayley Rogers in two straight sets.
