New Zealand didn't drop a set in thrashing Jamaica 5-0 to begin their Commonwealth Games mixed teams badminton campaign today.
The lop-sided pool match never rose to great heights, with New Zealand outclassing their opponents in all departments.
Donna Haliday and Henry Tam set the tone with a 21-14 21-14 mixed doubles defeat of Gareth Henry and Kristal Karjohn.
The singles matches followed suit - Joe Wu beating Charles Pyne 21-13 21-17 and Michelle Chan outclassing Alya Lewis 21-7 21-10 to decide the result.
New Zealand completed the whitewash with more doubles success.
Men's pair Tam and Oliver Leydon-Davis beat Garron Palmer and Henry 21-18 21-18 in the tightest affair of the day before
Halliday and Danielle Barry obliterated Lewis and Karjohn 21-1 21-5.
