CWG badminton: India thrash Canada to reach semi-final

New Delhi: Taking inspiration from Indian shooters and wrestlers, the badminton team is all set to bring glory to the nation at the 19th Commonwealth Games in Delhi.  Playing against Canad, the Indian team thrashed its opponent 3-0 to romp into the semi-final of the badminton mixed doubles event on Thursday.

The details of the badminton event is as follows:
Mixed doubles: Jwala Gutta and V.Diju defeated Grace Gao and NG Toby 21-8, 21-12.
Men's singles: Chetan Anand beat David Snider 21-18, 21-17.
Women's singles: World number one Saina Nehwal overcame Anna Rice 21-16, 21-13. 

In the overall medal tally, India is second behind Australia by winning 12 Gold, 8 Silver and 6 Bronze medals so far.
