Saina Nehwal is in Final of Badminton CWG 2010, Delhi, India...Breaking News! First Time for India

8th Oct, 2010: India continued with its impressive show at the Commonwealth Games 2010 by bagging 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals on Thurday, and another gold on Friday. India retained its second position in the CWG medal tallywith 15 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals.

The day 4 was kickstarted by a bronze in archery by the women compound team comprising of Bheigyabati Chanu, Jhano Hansdah and Gagandeep Kaur. Sudhir Kumar bagged another bronze in 77 kg weightlifting, followed by Suman Kundu in women's 63kg freestyle wrestling and Ashish Kumar in men's floor exercise gymnastics.

Gurpreet Singh and Vijay Kumar struck the first gold on the 4th day in shooting with 25m pistol pairs. Wrestler Geeta fetched India its first gold in women's wrestling in 55 kg freestyle category by beating Emily Bensted of Australia. The third gold was bagged by the shooters, Omkar Singh and Gurpreet Singh, in 10m pistol pairs.

The silver trail was led by Ronjon Sodhi in men's double trap, Nirmala Devi in women's 48kg freestyle wrestling, and men's compound team in archery comprising of Srither, Jignas and R Chatterji.

Saina Nehwal from Hyderabad took India to the finals of Commonwealth badminton event for the first time by defeating England's Liz Cann.

The 15th gold for India was bagged by women archers team comprising of Dola Banerjee, Bombayala Devi and Deepika Kumari in the final of recurve team competition.
